Cost Control

We have developed a customised training package that helps our clients to reduce and control costs. This involves training in basic tools and Change Management techniques, and cost improvement assessments.

Basic Tools
This training program introduces participants to some basic tools that can be used when generating ideas for cost reduction. The tools include:

  • process mapping
  • brainstorming
  • capability analysis
  • gap analysis
  • data collection and analysis
  • Kaizen events

Applying Change Management
The use of Change Management is a key aspect of any Continuous Improvement initiative. Effective use of Change Management increases the probability of project success by identifying any resistance to change and detailing the actions needed to address this resistance.

Cost Improvement Assessments
We aim to ensure that our clients identify and select the cost reduction project that best meets their needs. Our Cost Improvement Assessment is a three -step systematic process that will identify and prioritise only those improvement projects that will affect product or service costs in the short term. The three steps are:

  • identification of improvement ideas
  • prioritisation of improvement ideas
  • project execution

Identification of Improvement Ideas
We identify improvement ideas by assessing all cost information, including direct and indirect costs, labour, materials, inventory, energy, budgets and standards. This process involves data collection and analysis, gap analysis, brainstorming and idea generation.

Prioritisation of Improvement Ideas

Having identified improvement ideas, we work with clients to prioritise these ideas, based on the client’s business strategies.

Project Execution
After the projects have been identified, we develop a project charter and project plan to set up the project. The project team is then launched and the project is executed. We monitor the progress of the project and assess its success when it has been completed.
